The City Art Centre is part of the Museums & Galleries Edinburgh and home to the City’s collection of Scottish Art.

Artist works are shown from the 17th century to today.

The venue is exhibition-based with no permanent displays and presents historic and contemporary Scottish painting and photography.

Edinburgh’s fine arts collection consists of approximately 4,800 Scottish works in various media.

The collection contains works by Joan Eardley, Eduardo Paolozzi and many Edinburgh artists.

Once an extension of the Scotsman newspaper office, the building later became part of Edinburgh’s wholesale fruit and vegetable market.
