Princes Street, Edinburgh, Postcard

Princes Street from the West, Edinburgh

Princes Street, Edinburgh – a postcard from 1903 – Trams, Cars, People, Horses and Carts live in harmony on Scotland’s most famous street.

This postcard, published around 1903, shows Princes Street looking east towards Calton Hill.

A policeman controls the traffic at the junction with Lothian Road – nearby, the Sinclair Fountain.

On the left, a shop sunshade for Maule’s, the department store, later known as Binns and now the Johnnie Walker Experience.
